Sparkle 2013 (prep)

I am sat here enjoying the last of the weekend’s glorious weather. My toe nails painted pink, a short summer dress on and a glass of rum and coke by my side. Nothing could be better.

Everyone seems to be looking forward to Sparkle in the park ‘the National Transgender Celebration’ in Manchester next weekend, I hope the weather is as nice as it’s been this weekend.  I have been to this yearly event for the past 3 years. It’s a time where all the girls can catch up with each other and generally have a good time.

Even though I like this event it poses the old problem of what to wear. The English weather has a tendency to do differently to what is forecast …or rather the weather experts always get it wrong.

So my clothing for three days looks more like what you would take on a fortnight’s holiday. More shoes than Clarks, more undies than Marks and Spencer and more outfits than Debenhams.

The next week will involve lots of preparation mainly on me. Lots of exfoliating and creams to make sure my skin all over is smooth. Preparing my nails ready for the bright pink varnish, which I have been trying out today and very much like.

For some strange reason that’s beyond me, painting my nails pink makes me happy. It puts a smile on my face when I look at them and makes me feel good. Do all girls feel this way?

  1. I can’t say I’ve had the pleasure of Sparkle, although there is something special about having painted toes. No idea why, but they do look nice and the feeling lasts and lasts.

I hope all goes well with your trip and that the weather stays good to you.
